Α. Road Transport
Α. 1 Urban Transport
The visitor for all his transport needs, not only in the greater area of the city, but in the periphery up to a distance of about 25 kilometers, as well, may use the buses of OASTH. A well organized of schedules to all the possible destinations in the city, is available seven days a week.
A. 2 Taxi A large number of taxis, are stationed in central points of the city. Private hire through calls is also available.
A. 3 Rent a Car A large network of offices for car rental is available, with offices in the airport and throughout the greater area of the city. B. Arriving to Thessaloniki
B.1 Intercity Buses – The Organisation of KTEL is using the premises of the Terminal in Western End. It offers connection with every city in the rest of Thessaloniki, directly and indirectly. More information are here
B.2 Railway – Thessaloniki is connected to the rest of the cities by railway, using the line Thessaloniki – Athens for the southern destinations, while for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace the line Thessaloniki – Kipoi is used. The fast trains in the line to Athens, call INTERCITY, cover the total distance in 51/2 hours.

B.3  By sea -  To date there is not transport by sea on a regular basis between the city and other coastal cities 
B.4 By air – The International Airport Makedonia is connected not only to the total of the cities of Greece, but to a large number of European and Translantic as well. 

C. From Thessaloniki
C.1  By car  The new highway, Egnatia Odos, makes the drive from Thessaloniki towards the Western Greece more comfortable than before and in a much shorter time. The same applies for those who wish to drive to Easterm Macedonia and Thrace. It is a fact that the driving time from the city to provinces of Western Greece (Kozanis, Kastorias, Thesprotias, and others) is dramatically reduced, adding comfort and ease on the trip by car. 
C.2  By Railway The city has a regular railway connection with every city in the rest of the Greek State. Going towards to Eastern Macedonia the connection goes up to the Turkish border, while to the south the railway follows the connection Thessaloniki – Athens. More information are found here
